MORTAL MAGAZINE IS AN ANNUAL LITERARY PUBLICATION ABOUT HUMAN EXPERIENCE. EVERY YEAR A NEW THEME IS FOCUSED UPON AS A TOOL TO INVESTIGATE OUR LIVES. OUR GOAL IS TO UPLIFT VOICES THAT ARE OFTEN UNHEARD. WE LOVE IDIOSYNCRACY AND THE ECCENTRIC; DISTINCT STYLES OF CREATION. THROUGH COMMUNICATION, WE HOPE TO EXPLORE WHAT IT MEANS TO BE MORTAL. WHAT IT MEANS TO BE YOU.
ABOUT THE EDITOR
AMANI HOPE IS A WRITER FROM THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA. SHE FOUNDED MORTAL MAGAZINE IN 2020. THE FIRST ISSUE, MORTAL: CONNECTION, IS NOW IN PRINT.
THE ORIGINS OF MORTAL MAGAZINE CAME FROM AMANI’S PERSONAL NEED TO PROTEST STATE SANCTIONED VIOLENCE AND CENSORSHIP AT THE HEIGHT OF THE BLACK LIVES MATTER MARCHES. AMANI IS DISABLED AND SO FOUND IN PUBLISHING A METHOD TO JOIN THE CONVERSATION.
